By using GetFoodFacts you accept these terms. They are short because the site is simple: public food data, read plainly, paid for by ads.

What the site is, and what it is not
GetFoodFacts republishes USDA FoodData Central and Bureau of Labor Statistics data and computes comparisons from it. A packaged product's values are what its manufacturer submitted to USDA; the package itself is the authority on what it contains today. Nothing here is medical, dietary or allergy advice, and GetFoodFacts is not affiliated with USDA, FDA, BLS or any manufacturer, brand or retailer named on it. Rankings order products by one nutrient; they are not recommendations or ratings of quality.
Reusing the data
The federal data is in the public domain. Our own tables (rankings, category statistics and the downloadable CSV files) are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence: reuse them freely, with a link to the page they came from. Automated access is welcome at a polite rate that respects robots.txt; do not try to get around the site's security.
Advertising
Mediavine places the ads on GetFoodFacts. Advertisers do not choose or influence what is published, and ads are marked as ads by the network.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. We check the data against its sources (the methodology explains how), but to the fullest extent the law allows we are not liable for decisions made on it. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law of your country gives you as a consumer.
