GetFoodFacts offers free, no-login nutrition calculators built on USDA data: a macro calculator (calories from protein, carbs, and fat), a Daily Value calculator (what a nutrient amount means as %DV), and a calorie-density classifier (calories per 100 g, from very low to high). Each runs in your browser and explains the FDA reference behind its result.

Which nutrition tool do you need?

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, whose published reference values anchor every tool here, the Daily Values and the Atwater energy factors apply across more than 2,000,000 foods catalogued in the GetFoodFacts database (April 2026 release). Each calculator links back to the foods and rankings in that database so you can move from a number to a real food in one step. Our editorial team documents how the data is sourced and refreshed on the methodology page.

What's in the archive

Each calculator only works when the food you look up has the field it needs. Here's how many of the 2,013,644 foods in the database carry each core nutrient field.

Key takeaways

  • Calories is the most reliably populated field, present on 88.9% of the 2,013,644 foods in the database -- while dietary fiber is present on only 51.3%, so a calculator result can come back empty for some foods depending on which field it needs.
  • The Daily Value and macro calculators work on any food with the relevant field populated; if a lookup comes back empty, that food simply doesn't carry that nutrient value in the source data. Try the %DV calculator
  • All 4 calculators recompute instantly as you type, with no page reload and no account or sign-up required.

Every figure on GetFoodFacts is rendered directly from official USDA FoodData Central records, no number is typed in by an editor. See our editorial standards & corrections policy, the methodology behind these numbers, or report a data error. Data current as of April 2026.
