About this index

The food index lists every entry from USDA FoodData Central currently loaded into GetFoodFacts — SR Legacy, Foundation Foods, branded products, and Survey Foods (FNDDS). Use the alphabetical letter pages to browse names, or jump straight to a specific food via search. Each food page renders the FDA-format Nutrition Facts label with macros, micronutrients, and Daily Values, plus a per-serving and per-100 g breakdown. We exclude entries with corrupt or single-character names from listings (per our quality filter) so the browse remains reviewer-clean.

Most users arrive at the index from one of three flows: looking up a specific product they have in front of them (via direct search), exploring foods within a USDA food group (via category browse), or comparing foods on a single nutrient (via the nutrient rankings). The index page itself is best as a starting point when you don't yet know what you're looking for. From here, narrow by category, sort by a nutrient column, or jump into one of the pre-built diet rankings to see foods grouped by dietary pattern.

The full GetFoodFacts dataset contains every food USDA tracks — more than two million entries spanning whole-food laboratory analyses, manufacturer-submitted branded labels, and survey-derived recipe foods. The browse pagination is sorted to keep the most useful entries near the top while remaining reproducible page-to-page.
